We’re looking to hire an architectural interior designer n a senior/lead role to work with our Full-Service New Build + Renovation clients under the direction ofPrincipal Designer, Gina Baran. Our ideal candidate is a talented, patient, organized, naturally driven individual with a passion for interior design and changing the way our client’s live through design. This design candidate is always several steps ahead in problem solving and planning.

OVERVIEW

The Senior Architectural Interior Designer will lead in every step of the client project construction lifecycle. . The Senior Architectural Interior Designer will develop and implements the design vision for each project they lead and will create unique plans and spaces that reflect clients’ preferred needs all within the GBID aesthetic. The Senior Architectural Interior Designer will communicate all design related details to the builder and our design team and oversee the progress of each project site to ensure our vision comes to life. In order to give each client the best experience, the designer will be in communication with the client about the design throughout the process.

*This position is full time located in our Newburyport Studio and is not remote.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Develop construction plans + project design vision with Gina

  • Engage with clients throughout the entire project about all construction details and design related items.

  • Work closely with our builder and architect on each project for a communicative experience.

  • Communicate any and all design details to client and team, documented through email and our software systems

  • Take the client’s style and give it the GBID aesthetic

  • Be creative, forward-thinking and push the design team to new concepts and styles that fit within the GBID look

  • Develop each project’s inspiration, finishes and furniture selections and present to Gina

  • Delegate assignments to Design Assistants and review their work

  • Assist in presentation meetings to clients in studio or onsite

  • Lead job site meetings alongside Gina or alone if needed

  • Assist in managing client expectations with regular and clear communication.

  • Prepare and manage each project installation with Gina or alone if needed

  • Collaborate with Gina on preparing for Monday morning weekly meetings with design team to discuss schedule and week’s priorities

  • Train any new design team members and lead interns

  • Cultivate professional relationships with industry partners

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of lead architectural design experience in new construction and renovation in residential design (commercial design experience a plus)

  • Experience with new builds and large-scale renovations is required

  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Bachelors Degree in Interior Design (this may be overlooked based on experience).

  • Someone who prides themselves on extreme attention to detail.

  • Follow through on all aspects of the job from consult to install is a must

  • Proficient in AutoCad + Photoshop (Chief Architect a plus)

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and experience working directly with clients

  • The confidence and skills to communicate your ideas clearly to clients and the team

  • The ability to handle all aspects of a project from consult to install

  • Strong leadership ability and self-motivation

  • The ability to work as a team as well as individually
